Shaolin Class Token Price Increase as of September 1, 2025

Operation costs for our school have risen dramatically in the last 5 years. This includes rent, utilities, maintenance, insurance, computer and internet fees, etc. We have not raised prices during this time.

We can now see that even a generic Yoga class in the downtown Toronto area is $30+HST. Our current base price of $20 is well below market value, and we believe we provide a premium service (at least we try hard to so and will continue to strive and improve!).

To have a viable and financially sustainable operation, we will need to raise the base price of a token over the next few years. We plan to do this transparently and gradually, while keeping prices well below market rates. We believe our scheduled price increases are more than fair, and we hope you do too. The chart below will help explain the increases with some examples.

  • September 1, 2025 - base price increased to $22.00/token with at least 14 tokens
  • January 1, 2026 - base price increased to $22.50 / token with at least 14 tokens
  • May 1, 2026 - base price increased to $23.00 / token with at least 14 tokens
  • September 1, 2026- base price increased to $23.50 / token with at least 14 tokens
  • January 1, 2027 - base price increased to $24.00 / token with at least 14 tokens
  • May 1, 2027 - base price increased to $24.50 / token with at least 14 tokens
  • September 1, 2027- base price increased to $25.00 / token with at least 14 tokens

You will still receive discounts such as volume token discounts (e.g. 28 tokens will still be $2 cheaper per token), a returning student discount (provided you register before the term begins), and family discounts.

Students under 18 years of age or over 59 years of age (as of the start of a term) will not be affected at this time, although we cannot promise a price freeze forever. We want to continue encouraging children and seniors to take classes, as they generally have more financial limitations.

You can continue at the current standard rate of $20 / token with at least 14 tokens. However, you will be required to show proof of age with a valid ID (birth certificate, driver's license, health card, or passport). You can show your ID at reception, or email a picture of your ID (info@stqitoronto.com). We do not need to keep a copy, so we will immediately delete your email when we update your account (you will want to delete it from your 'Sent' folder as well).

Once your account has been updated, you will be able to select an option for class tokens at a cheaper rate.

If you want to take advantage of the current prices, you must register before the start of the next term. There will be no exceptions as the system will be updated and cannot be rolled back. You can also consider locking in current prices by registering for unlimited tokens for a year. If you are currently enrolled for unlimited tokens, you can request an extension at the current rate. Just email us and we will provide a prorated credit to your account so that you can then apply it to a new one-year unlimited class package.

These funds are needed to pay our instructors more, fund business growth and marketing, and conduct improvement projects at the school.

Some of the upcoming developments will cost around $160,000, and includes:

  • New flooring mats (coming in October!) - costs over $7,000 - Done!
  • New changerooms (sometime late 2026 to early 2027) - costs around $25,000 to $30,000
  • Esthetic improvements to the back training room (sometime in 2026) - i.e. bamboo slats on the walls - costs around $5,000
  • HVAC improvements for replacing old components such as compressors, blowers, and heat exchangers; improving airflow and humidity control; and improving ventilation in the washrooms and changerooms (2027 or later) - costs around $60,000 - $80,000) - 75% Done!
  • Adding shower, towel services, and laundry facilities in the back area (2028 or later) - costs around $30,000 - $40,000)

We will gladly take donations for any of these projects! Please do let us know if you have the generous means.

We thank you for your understanding and hope that you will continue training with us!
