Event Description

The 44th Can-Am Tournament will be held in Vancouver's Olympic Stadium from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026.

We are forming an STQI team for the tournament and entering events such as traditional Shaolin Kung Fu and Shaolin Tai Chi forms, as well as Push Hands. ALL students of STQI are invited! This will also be a great experience for Shaolin Team Canada athletes.

Some details of the tournament are still being discussed, so we won't know anything more than what is on their website. We are currently in discussion about specific rules, such as how many events you can enter, whether there will be a separate traditional Shaolin form events, etc., so we will make that available to all participants in the weeks to come.

At a minimum, expect to arrive on Friday, May 8, and leave on Monday, May 11.

You will be responsible for arranging your own flight and accommodations. A direct flight from Toronto to Vancouver takes approximately 5 hours. The approximate cost for a direct return flight is $900 CAD (with luggage and carry-on options).

We will have a separate meeting for all those attending this tournament, and then you can arrange accommodations and tourism together.

You can find more information on their website, including rules here:
